You are definately Jellybean. Even though I'm not a huge Robbins fan, at least not as huge as I used to be, every one of his books has come to me at the perfectly correct moment. The very sexy, STILL LIFE WITH WOODPECKER, came to me 2 weeks before the first time I had sex with a maniac. I read SKINNY LEGS AND ALL when I was living in NYC and had begun to daydream about learning to move my hips and drop my clothes in a room full of awe struck men. I read the book you were reading, while hitchiking through the Navajo Rez. And so forth... You are Jellybean. Love ya and hope you are safe and happy.

When I got back to Miami from Brazil, I wasn't sure what I would do. I had enough money for a hotel room for one night, and the phone number of a person I met there before I had left. The first thing I did was call him. It took a few tries to get the right number, or an answer. I was running out of quarters. So when I heard "I'm coming right now to get you" I breathed a much needed sigh of relief. Luis (who wasn't expecting this phone call for another 2 months) told me that his voodoo curse must have worked, because it had brought me back to him. Well, he had me there. "What voodoo curse" I asked? Thinking of this poem I had written for someone else on my unexpected airplane right back to the US. He then told me that after I had left, he found one strand of my hair on the inside of his hat. He took it, and wore it upon his head for an entire day, the only piece of hair on his head was mine since he had none of his own. I then freaked out a little in my own mind for all the random "coincidences" of this universe, and read him the poem I had written earlier that day. Life is a mystery. And homemade voodoo lives.

This poem was written by the ubiquitous Mr. Skippy. I'd like to thank my computer robot for providing me with a Portuguese to English translation, although I'm starting to suspect the computer robot is sometimes preoccupied with other things? Kudos!
